Photography season is finally on a break. As much as I love photography, I am definitely ready for a mini break. It gives me a time to catch up on the business side of things and share some beautiful weddings of 2020. What better way to spend December than looking at beautiful couples and reminiscing on the most perfect days.
This blog takes me back to a PERFECT, not to hot August wedding in a small town Iowa. I am literally grinning ear to ear writing this post. It was definitely one to experience. For one, I am a city girl, hands down. I can appreciate country life but definitely not familiar with any of those terms unless they are corny. This wedding I rode my first tractor ever and I survived! I was also stuck behind my first tractor parade. It was definitely a challenge with lighting but I loved being able to adapt.
Andrea and Grant are high school sweethearts. I had a lot of these this year which are just so freakin’ adorable! Dating so long and living in a super small town, of course the whole town of good ol’ Aurora was invited to see these two get hitched. Plus, both of them are very laid back with a great sense of humor which makes my job easy.
I honestly had no idea what to expect at this wedding. Andrea told me the first time we spoke that they were getting married in one of those circular grain bins. I was surprised when I arrived to the most beautiful set up. They got married at the Aurora Elevator (not a hotel one 😉 ), where Grant works. Throughout the whole day, there was so much greenery and floral that Andrea and her girls put together. It was s t u n n i n g! The beautiful greenery flowed to their beautiful reception which was held at the town’s park and they even had a live band!
I think the best part of this day was Andrea and Grant’s friends and family. Since they’ve known each other a long time, they share a ton of mutual friends. Their wedding party was a blast and handled my lack of country roots like a champ. They even had a small firework show just for me….. I mean them. 😉
I will forever remember this beautiful, low key wedding! Thank you so much Andrea and Grant for having me. You two are the best. I’d climb to the top of a grain bin anyday.
Hey ya! I'm Tia.
